Her adoptive brother Stiles took his birth parents name when he was fourteen, his decision. Lydia Martin and Scott McCall are step siblings and the wealthiest family in Beacon Hills. Scott's father had been killed in the line of duty. Scott's mother came from old family wealth rooted in oiling from her mother's side but her father had wealth from royalty of Spain. Lydia's mother committed suicide. Her father owned hedge-fund companies all over the U.S. The two married when the kids were five. Stiles wants everything to do with the Martins, not the Argents. He's been in love with Lydia since the third grade but she hasn't given him a chance. Lydia thinks Stiles is cute and funny. He lives with the Argents though. Scared of being hurt or humiliated, she ignores him. Using her brother Scott as a shield and shopping sprees as a distraction. Scott doesn't care for money. He'd rather spend it on other people.
