Excellence is a worthy pursuit, but it's not really the target. Jesus chose a rag-tag bunch of rough cut fellows to be His disciples. He led them on a journey in which He often didn't have a place to lay his head. The fed enormous crowds from lunch scraps. Never allow a lack of resources to become an excuse that deters you from doing the very best you can with what you have, and never let the pursuit of excellence stop you from pursuing God and pursuing souls for His sake.

Hi! I'm Dokgo Blue. I know that's not the most Korean name but it's what my mother named me. She wasn't Korean, she was actually American and met my father on her business trip to Korea. If you didn't notice, I said 'she was'. Well, fun fact, she isn't with us anymore. She died in a car crash. This lead to my two older brothers taking all of the money off of my father, taking the house and leaving us in a small apartment in Daegu. The place I was born. At the start of secondary school I skipped classes a lot. By a lot I mean I was there, at the most, twice a week. My father knew about this since whenever I was skipping school I would come straight home to my piano. Honestly I learnt more from him than I ever would actually being at school. Now I was never a shy kid at all, I mean sometimes I can be when it comes to big groups of people, this was because I loved making people laugh. If I could make someone laugh or help them, I felt purposeful. A few weeks ago, we got kicked out of our 3rd apartment. Now this new one we live in, it has two rooms. Kitchen, Bathroom. However, when a poster was thrown at me by the kids at school I grabbed my money and ran to the train station. One return ticket from Daegu to Seoul. I didn't tell my father because I knew he would say, "Oh no sweetie your too young! They wouldn't want a 14 year old in a girl or mixed group." I wanted to take this chance. This is a Trafalgar Law x Y/N (OC) fanfiction ___________________________________________ You were an infamous assassin who only had the dream of setting out to sea. You had never wanted to kill people.. but your parents had forced you.. you were locked up by their words as long as they had your younger brother in their grasp. You murdered notorious pirates but the bounties had began to drop. When they did, your parents slashed your brothers throat in front of you. They set the house a flame and left you their to burn along with your dead brother. You screamed until your voice no longer wanted to work with you. You had a magical voice.. you sang beautifully but nobody had ever known it. After that incident.. you no longer talked nor sang. You had some burn scars along your back.. and one over your right eye. Everybody called you a monster in your town due to your multicoloured eyes.. one was crystal blue and the other was crimson red. The right eye was red where the left one was blue. Additionally, you had snowy white hair and eyelashes. The world was full of trouble. Full of confusion and a catastrophic dilemma. One couldn't imagine at what destructive measure it would disintegrate into. While so many things were done to make the world a better place. At some point, it would later be revealed that the biggest problem was not a lack of educational facilities or a lack of health facilities. Believe it or not, Africa, also wasn't the world's biggest problem. The problem with the world today is sin. Sin brought about problems that would perpetuate into many more generations to come! It's almost unbelievable that someone would leave greener pastures to settle in a beat-down environment like Earth. One would wonder what this being could ever want. If life existed beyond the surfaces of our universe, why stay? If there was the possibility of walking with a glory that outshined the brightness of the sun, why hesitate? God cannot love us anymore than He loves our neighbor. His love tank is so vast that it accommodates everyone. Had He only sent Jesus Christ to the rich or the poor in African households, His love would then be conditioned to those that qualified. What makes His love so unique and strange is that He loves the broken and the sinners. He loves those of us that are unlikeable and unattractive. He persuaded His only son to die gruesomely to have all of mankind at His bosom. In the movies, opening doors and buying a bouquet of flowers is symbolic of love. In families, love is expressed in many different kind of forms. Even animals have ways in which they show affection. While all of that might stand out. It cannot be compared to the love of God. God can feel love, and He is love!Terminé

Love Like A Delinquent
3 years ago, my Step Dad adopted a son. His name was Hunter. For 13 years of his life, Hunter was neglected and abused by his parents. Beaten and raped, Hunter knew nothing good of the world. His Father eventually became a socio-path and shot the Mother. But as he was about to kill Hunter, Police arrived. The Dad shot himself instead. Hunter is now 16 and has been living in my family for 3 years. It's an understatement to say that we don't get along. Hunter is just angry at the world. He drinks and smokes and swears and fights. He kicks me and punches me simply because he's scared. He pushes everyone away. He has flashbacks and nightmares and can't seem to take anymore. Though I know he has reasons for being such an inconsiderate asshole, I still hate him. Our family has now moved to Cyprus. We're only staying for a while, so we just got a small appartment. Bad part about that? It's got 2 rooms. Me and Hunter have to share. At first I hate it. But then over the weeks, I begin to see how broken Hunter Storm really is. He's not just a dick, he's scared. I'm trying to keep my eyes open while hearing the noises of doctors and the beeps of machines. It's feeling like something is going away from me. I'm trying my best to keep my conscious. But second by second my strength is draining and pain is increasing into my head and whole body. But right now , I don't give damn to my own self. Anything could happen to me. I don't care. But nothing should happen to my child ... he should survive and live his life unlike his mother "who never got anything in her life. First I couldn't get the love from my parents "which i deserved.." then i got the husband "who don't give shit to my existence. My whole life went trying to get the piece of love "which I at least deserved once in my life . But no one dared to give to me and now god is snatching my last happiness as well. Which is my child. When I'd got to know about him. A ray of hope I'd felt in my life. I thought at least now I'll able to get someone whom I could call mine. But seems like god couldn't see me stay happy and now I'm laying on death bed holding my womb pleading to god that he should keep my baby safe. But I guess he can't see me happy and soon I heard doctor's faint voice " who announced baby is no more. We lost the baby. He whispered looking at other doctors being dejected. Tears made their ways from my twitching eyes..' and I felt like to scream and cry bitterly. All the emotions are gushing towards my brain and heart. but being numb on the bed made me so helpless that I can't even cry. After battling I couldn't hold my sanity and fell unconscious.Terminé
Boarding School
When Sammy's parents got divorced, she didn't mind at all, because she knew that they weren't meant to be together, and if they weren't happy with each other, then they don't have to stay together for her sake. She lived with her mom, and her dad visited regularly, when he could get away from his work; running a top class private boarding school. Her mom turns on her when her favourite person leaves town, and her life slowly starts losing meaning, and she can't think of anything that makes her happy, except being with her best friend. Then, she goes too... With nothing making her happy in her small town, she makes a life-changing decision, that she thinks will benifit her, and make her life all that she wanted. Or, it could go very wrong and be worse than staying where she is. "Dad, I want to live with you" I told him over the phone, in tears. Nothing new there. "Samantha, you know I'd love you too, but there isn't any school around this area, remember? My school is in the countryside, with nothing within a short driving dinstance" he all but rejected me. "Then can I move schools? Attend your boarding school?" He was silent, then let out a long sigh of defeat. "I'll enroll you now. Pack your things, I'll send a car in the morning for you." That was all I needed to hear, and I was thrilled. Without making noise, I danced around my room and repeatedly thanked him. Later that night, after the usual abuse, I silently packed my things when she was passed out. I hurried in doing it, and stored them at the back of my closet so she couldn't see them when she checked up on me. You're doing it, Sammy. Redemption
Book Two in the Grace Series. This can most certainly be read as a standalone, but I would recommend reading Grace first (and Something New before or after). Either way, enjoy: I spent my entire life trying to earn my parents' love and it just never worked. I wanted that same love Aunty gives me, from my mother. The same discipline Pops instills into me, I wanted from my father. I wanted comfort and care, and at the very least, their attention. It's all I wanted. But I never got it. Something within me still had some sort of hope that things could possibly change. I thought things could be salvaged at some point. I never voiced this to anyone else, but a part of me held onto that. That was shattered with the news they delivered to me. It shook me that they've been divorced, but what did the most damage was that they never even bothered to tell me. It's like they forgot they even have a child together. The people I lived and breathed for...didn't even seem to recall that I existed. That broke me. "I can't do this anymore," I repeat. Pops stares at me in silence before standing and disappearing. My mouth turns down in a frown, not expecting that, but then he comes back. I grit my teeth as he holds an item in his hand. I saw this very same item five years ago as well. The Bible. "Just like then, I won't force you into anything, Austin. You've got a choice-you always have. Short stories inspired by New Testament scripture. The New Disciples is a collection of stories that were inspired by brief passages in New Testament scripture. So often, as we read about the footsteps and faith teachings of Christ and his disciples, we are exposed to characters about whom we know very little. Sometimes we see only one or two verses about a person, sometimes a paragraph, but these brief passages are sufficient only enough to elicit curiosity about their life experiences. Scripture gives us very little about the wise men who traveled across the middle east in order to bless the baby Jesus, or about Barabbas whose life was spared as a prelude to the crucifixion, or Lydia who encountered Paul during his mission to Philippi. In each case they play a pivotal role in some way as to the furtherance of the greater mission picture in which they appear. In this collection of short stories, Robert Moyer has written plausible scenarios by which we might gain insight into the lives of some of these people and their individual pathways to Christian faith. While technologies and cultures have changed over the millennia, human nature today remains very much consistent with that of the human experience in the days of the living Christ and the legacy of faith he left for us.
