The Sly Story

This story is told through the point of view of a rookie who works for one of those "secret hero societies" that were common in children/teen adventure stories during the 2000s. He is sent on a mission to hunt down an ex-member who was kicked out of the force for breaking an arbitrary rule. Since these "secret hero societies" have a reputation for hunting down innocent people for breaking the status quo (i.e. a bullied kid trying to overcome his situation that is forced to be the "kid who gets bullied" for the rest of his life because the heroes couldn't be bothered to help the kid overcome his situation without using the problematic plot point, or a creature that left its home to pursue a normal life but must be sent back because it comes from another world), hi-jinks are bound to ensure
