The monster howled and I fell to the ground in panic. My dad stepped into the room and walked over to a desk. He gestured to the monster. “This is a werewolf. They’re a nasty species who kill for the heck of it. Some things weaken them though. Wolfsbane, Silver,” he said, pointing to the door with the wolf on it, “and, my favorite, electricity.” He turned a dial on the desk and the monster tied to the far wall screamed. I covered my eyes with my hands. “When one bites you, you’ll turn into one too. So you have to stay away from them.
I couldn’t believe what was happening at the time. I’d heard of werewolves in stories, but I’d never thought that they could be real. “But werewolves can also transform into humans,” my dad continued, “which means you can’t trust anyone outside our family.”
Grandpa nudged me from behind. “Our family protects humans from this dreaded animal. They call us Hunters.”All Rights Reserved
