I was never the funny girl, nor the pretty one, not the skinny tall girl that everyone in my family would praise. I was just Layla, which never felt enough for anyone, not even myself. Did I ask for big hips and thighs? No, but they came from my mother anyway. Did I ask for a chest that could feed the hungry? No, I didn’t thanks grandma. Anyway I was just Layla until my friend Jax –who’s in love with my cousin- started a band, he needed members. That’s where my life started. I left home and pissed off the whole family, taking my sister with me. I needed to get away from there, I couldn’t stay. My friends and cousins tagged along as well. Jaxs’ bus took us anywhere and everywhere we needed to go, I thought it would be fun, end up like the movies. Life doesn’t end up that way.
