A story of grief, bravery and love-this tale surrounds Silena, a sixteen years old girl who is not the least normal. And this abnormality, has hurt her in her life, whose scars have been permanent.

As I hurried past the market, I could see people giving me glares, throwing silent curses at me, make faces and others wouldn't even look at me. I didn't blame them. I am unlucky. I am a monster. I am not a good person at all. I am Silena of the Forgotten Village. I am an orphan. I am a demon.

After a faulty ritual on her twelfth birthday destroyed her life and shattered her memories, Soojin began running and never stopped. The only clue as to what happened is a gift her parents gave her as a child, and the promise that came with it. A wooden pendant with the power to summon a "friend" the day she turned twelve. Someone she is still waiting to meet... and trying desperately to find. It doesn't take long for Soojin to realize that this person is only one thread in a larger web, and that pulling it will begin to unravel the truth of what happened all those years ago.
