I was told when I was younger that I would get a mark. We talked about them in school all the time once we learned about them. We were told that everyone has one by the time they're 16, but I still don't have mine yet. Marks connect you with your soulmate, that's what they're for. All of my friends have a mark, they're all so interesting and unique. Marks are so fascinating. I've always been so jealous of them, when will I ever get mine?

Gifts and soulmates were common currency in Donumdell. From a very young age, that was all its citizens were instilled with.
