"We cannot escape who we are."
These are the venomous words Venice's mother had told her.
"But we can always try," Venice would counter, her voice nearly inaudible, but still sufficiently convictional.
Once upon a time, Venice took pleasure in her superior abilities. She had enjoyed the sensation of power flowing through her veins. She had been amused by men's enthralled ogles and their helplessness to her influence. She watched them behave rashly and blindly with sheer delight, a pail of popcorn practically in her lap.
Those days had ceased. Now, as a nineteen year old granted with the freedom of choice, Venice wants to abandon her past and her roots. She yearns for a new beginning and to be a better individual. Most significantly, she wants to compensate for her mistakes.
Nevertheless, Venice has yet to discover is that there is a darkness inside of her that can never be terminated.
Our demons reside within us, persistent and irrevocable.
In this big bad world full of temptations and treacheries, she must muster up the courage and valiance to confront her most supreme enemy:
Herself.
