Imperial Shadows

YASciFantasy Trifecta Challenge Entry.
The challenge was to write a three-part story. Each part had to follow a different genre, a different kind of prompt, and be no more than 1,000 words (3,000 total).

Mycelle Croft, a hard-headed, dragon-wielding queen, must use a mysterious and powerful weapon in order to save her kingdom from a power-hungry, rival family.

Callen Rorovick, a battle-hardened dragon ranger who's secretly in love with Mycelle, must rescue her brother in order to prove his devotion and worthiness. But when things go awry and Callen is captured, he'll have to face a madman and the horrors of an evil library in order to survive.
