Kaylee is in present day 18 years old but she was kidnapped when she was less then 4 years old, when she turned 14 her kidnapper began to rape her and if she did not do what she was told she was punished. She's never known what it was like to be loved, and when she turned 15 years old is when she first shifted into her wolf. Her kidnapper did not care because apparently he knew of the existence of mythical creatures, so he put a shock collar on her so she could not hurt him. 

Cage, a 20 year old Alpha wolf of the blood moon pack had become Alpha of the pack at a young age due to his parents death. He hadn't found his mate until one night when he was going for a run on the neighboring packs territory whom he was friends with that he was drawn by an amazing scent which brought him to an old worn down cabin and he heard crying and moaning from inside and there was a window he peered in to see the girl that smelled delicious and a man on top of her and she was crying obviously not wanting it. So Cage pounces into the window and killed the man which terrified the girl even more.
