Painted faces glance from behind feathered fans and smile falsely at brutal adversaries. White teeth gleam prettily under candlelit chandeliers. Lies float swiftly through the air and burrow in feeble minds. The game has begun.

There is a saying amongst all of the supernatural. It's uttered secretly; the phrase dancing from one tongue to the next. Waiting and watching to see which mind it might corrupt in turn. Isn't it true?

Corrupt rulers dance among the just as wolves amongst noble lions. War happens inside an extravagant ballroom. There is no limit to the power between the shining walls of grandiose. Gowns swish through the fragrant air, strong hands caress slender waists. Truthfully, the game has only just begun. Everyone is willing to die for their life.

Long ago there was a species known as the celestials. They had no power of their own. They could only mimic the power of those they kissed. Celestials were a peaceful carefree people until the demons and sirens decided to use them as weapons against each other. Not for their power, but for their blood. The blood of a celestial is known to grant full immortality to any who drink it. This means that the drinker may never be harmed naturally, their strength and power become infinite. The only stipulation is that one must drink the blood each day. If a dose is missed the drinker returns to their previous strength and mortality. Properties of celestial blood cause the species in question to become completely extinct- or so it is believed.

The Rider's Legend

52 parts Complete

Hated by the people she's sworn to protect, dragon rider Neely Lynch searches for her stolen dragon while struggling to control the dark powers inside her. ***** After the Culling of Naughton -- a horrific slaughter that led to the murder of several dragon riders and the destruction of two separate armies -- Neely Lynch is on the warpath. Unbeknownst to most, Neely and her friends survived the Culling and are determined to reunite with their kidnapped dragons at any cost (even if that means leaving a trail of broken and bloody bodies behind them). But finding her dragon soon becomes the least of her problems when Neely discovers her disappearance after the Culling has only added to her reputation as the infamous Vidalin Rider. Hated and scorned by the people she's sworn to protect, Neely must find a way to prove she's not the villain everyone thinks she is before her dark and deadly powers, which are slowly growing beyond her control, transform her into the very thing she's trying not to be. [The Rider's Legend can be read as Book 3 in The Rider series, or as a standalone -- but note that it will spoil Book 1 and 2] [[word count: 150,000-200,000 words]]
