Kyenna Velvré is a girl born in Harbin, China, into a rich but complicated family. In the summer before grade 5, they moved to the megacity of Shanghai. She went to New York to study in grade 7 and lived there up until now. She skipped grades 6 and 9, completing high school at the age of 16.
An unexpected encounter with her past best friend brings about new adventures and memories to be made as they journey into the future. By accident, they find themselves in a completely new world where fighting is commonplace and magic is a regular occurrence.
As the only people without mystical powers there, how will they deal with the pressure of society's disdain?

This story is co-written with my friend @KaoraDarnese33, and we're publishing it on both our accounts so it's more widely accessible. She writes as Aquella Moran, while I write as Kyenna Velvré.
