"Breathe, Adeline" I stare at the beautiful man in front of me with blank eyes... I don't remember those vibrant gray eyes, who is this man? I start getting even more frightened. "Adeline", he says, more demanding this time. I try to calm myself down, trying to tell myself that having a panic attack will do nothing, though my little self pep-talk doesn't do anything to help. "W-Who are you?" I ask, finally getting my breathing under control, maybe this was all a misunderstanding. "Hades", he said calmly, it's then that my mind goes into overdrive and the last thing that I see is worry in his eyes, before I cannot see anything at all. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Adeline was relatively normal, working her life away at the HERA headquarters, slaving over a desk every day in the highest floors of the building most unknown to the world. Hades is- well he's Hades. He's the god of the underworld, not to mention one of the most feared beings in the universe. They say he doesn't know how to feel, he has no weaknesses, especially after HER... after Persephone. When Adeline is made the target of some not so happy gods, Hades is tempted to step in and save her, will she finally be his weakness? Or will she be his strength?

"You can have anything you want," He plucked the ripest for me from the tree. "Everything in my world is yours." With all of my mother's warnings, I had been afraid to eat from his table or drink his wine. These were binding things, and I would starve myself thin before Hades and I were tied together by communion. But in the light of this garden, it didn't seem as dangerous as it had in the dark. "I feel your wanting," he murmured and pressed half a pomegranate into my palm. Being in Hades's underworld for so long threatened to consume me. "Please. I shouldn't," I whispered. "Shouldn't," he repeated. "Why, Persephone? Because it is against the rule of the gods?" "No," I breathed. "If I cross this line, I don't know what will become of me." "Let me show you." ................................ 🥇#1 Retellings 🥇 #1 Kore 🏅#10 Greek
