Livy's always been the supporting actress rather than the star of both her real life and the school plays.  She thought she was happy living on the sidelines until  she's cast as the lead in the school play opposite her step brother's best friend, high-school bad boy Xander Davis.  Now Livy suddenly finds herself center stage in both the play and a secret romance with Xander.  Is she willing to take the risk of stepping out into the spotlight or will she stay in the safe role she has always know?




This story is inspired by the movie the Kissing Booth.  Or, really, interviews I saw with Joey King and Jacob Elordi about filming the Kissing Booth.  I thought how romantic it was that they fell in love while filming the movie.  And, I thought how incredibly awkward it would have been for a teenage girl to do all of those scenes if she had been any less self assured and professional than Joey King is.  So , I set my story in a high school that was putting on the play the Kissing Booth, and made my own characters with their own insecurities and struggles.  I will be updating this once a week if anyone starts reading it.

For the booksmart yet naïve 16-year-old Nicky, high school in her quaint little hometown island in the Philippines had always been predictable. Until that senior year. Nicky thought she got things all figured out. She'd be very good at school and be the valedictorian of the single-section class of 2010 of the highly looked-up science high school in their island. And then, she'd get a full scholarship to her dream university. All was fairly well except for a few things like grappling her feelings towards a long-time crush. Just when Nicky thought she could get through high school without too much boy-drama, a somewhat seemingly love life with a boy or two and suddenly, maybe even three was finally catching up with her during the last few months before high school graduation. She had never thought she could be wrong about a person. And that she could always be wrong about boys... ✨✨✨ Sidenote: I wrote this from November 2010 to April 2011, only a year ahead from the time set in the novel. This was fully uploaded on Wattpad in September 2013 for safekeeping. I hadn't gotten back to it in so many years nor find any means and time to promote it. "That was weird, but I can't stop my heart beating ten times faster than it should be. Laying down on the bed I face away from the bathroom door not wanting him to look at me. I pull the white cover up to my nose and look at the wall. I hear the bathroom door open and footsteps reach closer to the bed. The covers are being moved behind me as Mateo gets ready to sleep. I reach up to turn off the lap on my nightstand, and when I do we're left in the dark abyss of my room. Mateo's arm wraps itself around my waist and pulls me back into his hard chest. He gently lifts my head up and puts it back down onto his bicep. I take in a shaky breath and close my eyes deciding it is best to just sleep. Feeling his breath on the crown of my head, I'm more relaxed than I was before and start feeling sleepier by the second. But before sleep overtakes my mind. I hear Mateo mutter something. "Good night sweetheart." ~~~~~~ Moving on. Growing up. The fears of Mateo and Veronica. Two strangers who have been attending the same high school for the past three years.
