It feels like we've been walking forever. This place is practically a maze. Suddenly we stop in front of a pair of black double doors. "Are you scared?" General Breek asks me. "No," I scoff. "I'm not scared of some legendary commander who's been hiding underground for years, especially if it's a girl." Breek looks me in the eye. "You should be."

This story involves people with powers and occasionally other physical attributes(wings, tails, etc.) For a bit of context, it's very uncommon for people to have more than one ability, and abilities can range from elemental to speed to strength to mind and more. Pretty much anything goes. People's powers typically emerge at 18 unless something happens in their childhood to trigger it. There are people who don't have powers. They aren't really in the story much though.

Long ago a group of superheroes and villains worked together to prevent an invasion. But they managed to kill more people than they saved. Their destruction caused the perception of those with powers to dramatically shift; to the point of outcast. 50 years later crime has increased to the point where not even the police respond to calls. Few heroes went into hiding to 'play normal'; like my family and I. I live in New Haven City. I've been lucky enough that I don't have powers that attract too much attention --- Everything was going great. Everything was normal. Until Jamie was forced to confront the reality of her situation. The mayor who has been running the NSA was beginning to take drastic measures. Sending many supers off to another island. Stealing their powers. Forcing others to betray their own kind. The victims of these horrific acts are not taking that lightly. Why not make a team of heroes? A team that doesnt give a shit what the NSA or the Mayor has to say. Half Hero ⚡️ {Superhero Adventure Scifi}
I should be dead. At least, that's what the government officials told me in the super-secret lab where I woke up strapped to a mattress in a windowless room...Sound problematic to anyone else? Like I told the psychos experimenting on me, I've got zero clue how I got my new powers, but I'm sure-as-shit not going to let them turn me into a deadly weapon (or squeeze me into a spangly jumpsuit). I watched him watch me as he was about to press his fist into the big red button that read "Emergency Fire!". I was unable to form words because, I thought about how hot he looked as he stared back at me with such intensity. It just intrigued me. I finally snapped out of my trance, but not because I'd came to my senses, but because I felt a cold sensation running down my body. I blinked about three times before it finally registered that he'd pressed the button and now water was spilling from the roof, and some students were laughing and playing. My breath hitched in my throat as he came closer. "You really should've worn a more, I don't know, a thicker shirt or bra. Because your two lovely friends are standing at attention." as the words left his mouth, realization caught up to me and I flushed with embarrassment and quickly crossed my arms over my chest. A girl gets superpowers, but is there a plot to make her and other powered individuals instruments of evil? This story was originally called A Rebel Rising in its first draft. Just an author's note. Most of this story is pretty safe in terms of "maturity level" and topics, but in some of the chapters, there are some subtle (?) elements of sensuality... But, it's more around the end, with random smatterings in chapters like 7. I'm going to go ahead and mark it as Mature even though it's probably fine. As the narrator, I'm tempted to simply write "Middle Finger" because that is essentially what you'll feel like I'm giving you in telling this story. However, for the sake of not being a complete dick, I'll write a little more than just a description of a disrespectful gesture. This story can aptly be described as crude and deranged. As you may have surmised, a crazy person will be telling this story, and the characters involved are indeed also all crazy in their own special ways. So, given this exercise in mental illness, the topics touched on (in no particular order) in this tale are destruction, death, superpowered wackos, torture, pain, loneliness, chaos, the will to survive, never giving up, giving up and not giving a shit, the desire to protect, failing to protect and causing more trouble than was already present, disappointing and/or abusive parental figures, bullies, unjust punishments, just punishments, racism, violent and usually superpowered fights, sci-fi gadgets, bitterness, sarcasm, twisted and demented comedy, control or lack thereof, weird and awkward high school drama, lies and brainwashing, alien aggression, moral ambiguity, unhinged villains, fantastical weapons, a piece of shit main character, conditional friendship, a fuck load of musical references, anger, fear, depression, extra-dimensional creatures, godly powers, various esoteric connections, pop culture references, and of course, in general, superpowers.Concluida

Strength, power, authority, and being feared is thought to be the things needed to survive in Akantha's world of the Othaminia. But sometimes, you need more. You need to fear, fear it's self. When the light of Akantha's world leaves, and she is left with her self in the fight to survive, she flees the the human world, all the while, keeping her big secret safe. With her adopted human family to look after her, you can't imagine anything going wrong. Years after, when Akantha is finally about to turn 16 and come to her full strength, the Othaminian kings guards turn up at her human house, wanting her back after her flee became public. When the turn up at Akantha's human house, Akantha was with her human friend. When she gets back to the home she has grown to love, she finds her Uncle has been shot in the leg, and her little brother suffering a head shot. Three men come into the room where the shots were fired, and Akantha has no choice, but o run, causing her to become a fugitive of police. Once again, for the second time in her life, the light fades away. I do not own any of the character names. However, I do own Othaminia, which is a mythical creature that I basically just created. The creature has the strength of a thousand men, their voice has this force that can blow people off their feet (literally), their hair can change colour and length, and their eye's can change colour. These people are something that I've been thinking of for the past few nights, and I really wanted to show the (wattpad) world.
