In "She Doesn't Exist" a teenage boy's life was thrown upside down and inside out when he met Rosaline Harman and wound up with a secret life and a broken heart.
Three years after the girl he loved was buried, Russell Duvall finds his life almost back to normal. He's moved on from his time as an agent for the Underground Quarter and is now a college student living with his girlfriend, Bethany, a government analyst.

Thoughts of the murderess who had captured his heart still fill his mind daily and although he won't mention her to anyone, Russell knows that Rosaline will always be in his heart, no matter where his life takes him. Content with the normal life, Russell expects destiny to run its course and take him down the same path as so many others; the path with a wife, a family and a career and he's more than happy with that ideal, already imagining family life and the dream of growing old happily.

However, when a familiar black motorbike and its rider appear to be following him everywhere, Russell starts to wonder whether his mind is playing tricks on him or whether the ghosts of his past really are wandering about the city.

Soon, the reality of the perfect country he lives in is shattered and his freedom compromised when an old friend becomes the centre of a government investigation in which the penalty is death.
Russell finds himself falling back into the dark, dangerous world that he left three years earlier and reunited with people who he thought he'd never see again, before finding out that he soon has to make hard decisions and decide what life he really wants...

All before the noose is tightened.

Vee doesn't just have a past-she has the past. Escaping a shadowy facility at 16, she became the deadliest assassin the world never knew. For one year, her name whispered fear in underground circles, her unmatched skills earning her a reputation rivaling myths. But the weight of that life was too much, even for her. At 17, she walked away, determined to be more than the weapon she was made to be. Then she met Captain Raymond Holt. Holt found her at a crossroads, a teenager with an assassin's precision and a smile that masked her pain. Instead of treating her as a threat, Holt saw potential. He gave her a chance to start over, treating her with the respect and care she'd never known, like a daughter. Under his quiet mentorship, Vee learned there was another path-a way to use her skills for good. Years later, Holt brings her into the Nine-Nine as a special consultant. Her bubbly and cheery personality throws the squad for a loop, masking a dangerous, complex past that begins to unravel as she integrates into their world. While her lethal expertise quickly earns the team's admiration (and suspicion), it's her growing bond with the enigmatic Rosa Diaz that proves to be the most surprising challenge yet. As secrets resurface and old enemies return, Vee must reconcile who she was with who she wants to be-all while trying to survive the chaotic family that is the Nine-Nine. Will the squad accept her for who she is now, or will her past overshadow her future?
