This world is much like ours in many ways. With only one major difference. There are no human interracial conflicts, now it is just interracial conflicts with all humans unified under two banners, Highlands and Lowlands. 
Eric, the Lowlands Human from a 'normal' family
Wolfstar "Star" , The  Mysterious Canid
Torun, The Minotaur who is finishes the Low-land trio with his brute strength
Winstin, The Aviok Ambassador who is much more than a diplomat
And Syris, The Highlands Human of noble birth.
Can the chosen overcome their own relationship issues, the differences of race, status and history, to save this world and the realms.
