None of them ever expected to be reaped, none of them thought they were going to be forced into fragile alliances for their very survival. They never expected that they would be thrown into the Hunger Games where they would have to fight to the death- and only one would survive.
Vikk and Harry were forced together out of fear, being some of the youngest tributes.
Mitch and Jerome had been friends since childhood and when one volunteered for the other, they knew they would go together. 
Preston, Rob and Lachlan allied because they felt alone and needed someone to fight with.
Josh and Simon were from different districts but allied to have a better chance.
The Hunger Games created relationships and then tore then all down- all for entertainment- panem et circenses.

Everyone has their battles. Preston was diagnosed with cancer, leukemia, at 17 years old and 7 years later he was still battling it. He's almost never home, spending months upon end in hospital receiving treatment that is working less and less each time. Rob's parents never seemed to care about him but as he got older and became more independent, they became abusive. Nothing he could do was good enough for them. Mitch couldn't remember a time that he wasn't depressed, that he felt like he was alive. Treatment never seemed to work, meds only made him feel worse and the only thing that made him feel anything was bringing a blade to his skin. Jerome didn't know how the addiction started, but drugs had always been apart of his life. His parents were addicts so it seemed like fate that he would follow the same path, and now he didn't know if he could change. Vikk had turned to alcohol to lessen the pressure on him to succeed and now it was just apart of his life. He tried to hide it and got pretty good at it too, but he was sure that someone knew of his habit. He was drinking his life away. Lachlan was diagnosed with schizophrenia. The mania set in worse as more years passed to the point where he wasn't entirely sure what was real anymore. Everyone has their battles, but sometimes, people lose.

Join Alex on another terrifying trip through joining another school halfway through the school year. Meeting new people and gaining new bullies. Going on a trip to fulfill her destiny. Being chased by the boy that wants to steal her heart....again. Being helped by her friends with one that secretly has a crush on her, knowing he has no chance. She is confused with where to go, who to talk to, and most importantly who she loves. And who to trust. For you imformation there will be swearing because they all swear except for sky since he has a baby now...but he wont in this because hes in 9th grade.
