Lainey Willow was a foster child and everyone knew that. She was quiet most of the time, never wanting to talk to anyone. Although no one really paid attention to her, it felt like somebody was watching her from a far distance.
After meeting a student named Freddy Freeman and his new foster brother ‒ Billy Batson ‒ Lainey begins to experience what having friends was like. But an unexpected turn of events with family can lead one thing to another really quick, and Lainey had to learn it the hard way.
