The whole reason he was put into public school was his parents were moving away to live with his grandfather who was sick. So, he was to live with his dad's friend who also had a son his age. Phil was also an outcast, but he got along alright in school. Having to live with Phil and Phil's dad who was gone half the time, Dan and Phil get to know each other quite well. They soon bond over many things and Dan realizes he has feelings for Phil. But will Phil feel the same way? Will it work out? For multiple months, the main character has been hiding themselves from this boy, Tal, because they've been scared of what Tal may think of them. After a while of waiting and hiding, Tal finally notices the main character and automatically falls in love with them; they had love at first sight. Slowly this major change affected the main character, their everyday life, and experiences they haven't had before. Their friends leave them and the main character is left with Tal and a few of his friends. The main character doesn't notice all of the changes they have had, and is left alone after something big happens to Tal.
