When sixteen-year-old Chloe loses her father, she moves in with her mother who's racist family turned her away as a baby. Chloe is left alone in her mother's mansion for two months while her mother has an acting job in Italy. Chloe's cousin, Ivar, who lives in the annex at the end of her mother's garden is trusted to keep an eye on her, but it's only when nhe and his friends (the Knights) save her that she finds out who he really is. Ivar and the other Knights refuse to kill her for what she's seen, so she's given two options; leave immediately and keep their secret forever, or join them.
