Kate's College Struggles
Kate is a small, shy girl who's starting college after barely graduating high school. She didn't want to go to college initially because she didn't feel like she could handle it, both academically and mentally. However, when her one and only friend Megan decided to go with her, Kate agreed. The small girl has anxiety issues due to being bullied for her childish appearance and behavior. Kate was born with permanent incontinence, making her have to wear diapers her whole life, something she was bullied for in school. It also didn't help things that she had a growth hormone deficiency, causing her to stop growing at only 4'5 tall. The bullying was only exaggerated further due to her childish mannerisms, always carrying around a stuffed animal and drinking out of sippy cups. The onset of her first college semester caused her anxiety to skyrocket to new levels, which in turn, caused her to become even more childish. Megan, Kate's only friend, was a 6'1 tall girl who had great grades through all of school, taking all advanced classes in high school and entering college with a year's worth of credits already. Her much better grades caused her to be in different classes than Kate through all of high school, but Megan used her status as the smartest student in her class to choose her schedule so that she always had lunches and study halls with Kate. The two girls became friends all the way back in kindergarten. Even back then, Megan was the smart one. She realized that Kate always needed extra help with work and would go into the teacher's office with the teacher for diaper changes. Megan felt bad for the poor girl, having stopped wearing any kind of protective underwear herself soon after she turned 2. So Megan introduced herself to Kate and they quickly became friends, Kate becoming clingy even towards Megan. How will Kate's first semester of college go? Of course, those powers are only given to the fortunate and lucky ones. The more damage and strength the power has, the lower the chances of getting them. One day when the three found a book that said there was something called the "Chancing Star" they escaped. It was said to grant whoever touches it first 3 wishes with some rules of course. If more than one person touches it at once then, everybody who touches them gets 3 wishes. The downside to this was that the more people there is, the higher chance the wishes can backfire. The three teenagers barely knew anything about their powers. They didn't even know if the so called star existed. They only read a couple books about powers but most things are still unknown to them. After the 3 weeks orientation program of the NYSC, I was posted to a secondary school at Oyan for the one year service. I was given a room on the school compound at the Corpers' quarters. On getting to On getting to Oyan, I started looking for a Pentecostal church where I could be worshipping, and soon I was able to find one. Shortly after I started worshipping in the church, I joined the choir. Fortunately, it was at the time when the choir leader just left the church, and there was nobody to coordinate the members. He was so gifted when it comes to instruments; there was no instrument he couldn't play. I always felt the presence of God whenever he was on the keyboard. I was named Adesewa after my late grandmother, who passed away shortly before I was born. My dad loved his mum so much, and hence transferred the love to me, believing that his late mother was the one who came back, more so, according to him, I was the mama's carbon copy.
