3 parts Ongoing MatureThe summer of 1989 promised to be pretty much like any average summer: hot nights, flashy duds, tuned-up rides, high platforms, neon lights and thick layers of hairspray. And flings. Lots of summer flings. If only the streets of Queens, New York could speak...
But what awaits for Pier Carlevaro, a five-star waiter and a run of the mill guy from Middle Village? A rug pull with a name and a problem for him to solve: Giosuè 'Gio' DiMaggio, a grease monkey dressed as a bad boy with a respected name in the nocturne world of street racing, comes to Pier as a last resort to ask for aid on how to deal with his very first heartbreak.
And since a waiter's job is to serve, and Pier is somewhat too good for giving a 'No' as an answer, this humble guy accepts the task of mending a broken heart, unknowing that, when the time comes, his own heart will be put on the line when Pier realizes there's something more than a 'doctor-patient' relationship. Something that everyone says it's forbidden, hideous and unnatural.
The thing here is: in a situation in which confessing the truth to the wrong person could end in disaster, what would yo do? Hope for the best, bet all your chips to get the chance to live the best (and very first) romance of your life? Or grin and bear it, say nothing and keep your 'horrid' secret to yourself?
