Let us start from the beginning. Why any student enrolls for an MBA course. The most common answer is that the student is looking forward to getting a 'GOOD' corporate job, followed by a student would like to start their own venture. In other words, students want to be capable of achieving these above-stated objectives by enrolling for an MBA. Now, let us looks at the skills required to achieve these objectives. To list the skills required, we should understand today's business space and organizations. Organization's business models are changing, organizations are going for automation, and manpower size is reducing even if their business turnover is growing. Most of the organization's structure has become flat and they work on a project basis. They are aggressively investing in AI due to which most of the entry-level jobs are vanishing. In India, 9 percent of the current activities are automatable, as per McKinsey report on 'Job Lost, Job Gained: Workforce Transitions in a Time of Automation, 2017'. The report further states that 8 to 9 percent of the workforce would be engaged in a new occupation. If the individuals in the
working age group does not re-skill themselves effectively, they might be forced to retire early.
