All of Gandalf's favors were too much, all of them went too far. It came with the territory, he was after all, a wizard with a penchant for throwing people in over their heads. But still, every once in a while couldn't he just ask for help with moving a chair? Fixing a wagon? Fashion advice? Of course not, that would be boring, instead every call for aid was do or die with high stakes and dire consequences. Sometimes I wondered how I even fell in with the troublesome wizard, but then I remembered that he knew the truth, my truth thought of me as a friend regardless. I would help him, I always did and I always would, no matter the likelihood of death. I swear, that bastard knew it too. This time, it meant traversing the continent with people who didn't know me well and trusted me even less. Lord of the Rings fic (Tenth walker)

"One does not simply walk into Mordor. Its black gates are guarded by more than just Orcs. There is evil there that does not sleep and the Great Eye is ever watchful. It is a barren wasteland, riddled with fire and ash and dust..." Boromir addresses the council in a quiet voice "The very air you breathe is a poisonous fume. Not with ten thousand men could you do this. It is folly." He ended in a state like manor As I sighed shaking my head at what he said "Have you heard nothing Lord Elrond has said ? The ring must be destroyed" Legolas said "It is true you cannot just walk into the gates of Mordor but you should not be so naive as to think you alone could destroy the ring" I said as Gimli looked towards me "And I suppose you think you're the one to do it ?" Gimli said cockily "And if we fail, what then ? What happens when Sauron takes back what is his ?" Boromir questioned looking towards Gimli as he leaps to his feet "I will be dead before I see the Ring in the hands of an Elf!" Gimli says looking towards me spitefully. "How dare you speak to me in such a manor dwarf!" I said rage in my voice as the council erupted into a storm of arguments. "Never trust an Elf!" Gimli said towards me as I reach for my arrow but a hand grabs my wrist and I feel warm breath on my ear "I wouldn't" Legolas' voice says against my skin as I look at him our faces inches apart. "Fine" I say through gritted teeth as Legolas lets go of my hand softly and stands by my side.

A Healer's Touch

17 parts Complete

Anneth was raised surrounded by war, and she hated it. Trained as a healer, Anneth has always seen the worst of war; the pain, the suffering, the tears of distraught families when they learn their son is dead. Peace was all she wished for, but with Sauron's power growing, Rohan's peace would be hard to come by. But when a strange group arrives at Edoras, Anneth finds herself swept up alongside them, and learned that peace might not be so hard to find after all. ~.~ Boromir, brought back from the brink of death, gets a second chance at life, a chance to amend the mistakes he made. However, guilt and shame haunts his steps, and this miracle seems to him more a curse. It would take a great force to bring him back to his former self. But perhaps all he needed was a healer's touch.
