She was strikingly, terrifyingly normal. There was something so horrific about how purely mundane she was. Demelza hated it. She wanted more than anything to give the other something just as dire as her unadulterated normality.

She gazed into her dark brown eyes with lust and pain. A rose as red as her tainted lips she'd put behind her ear, still holding it there, never wanting to let go. She put her forehead against hers as she whispered "You're just like a rose, beautiful but when you come too close you sting, not wanting others to see the pain behind your beauty. But you know what, I'm not scared, I won't give up on you no matter how much you make me bleed." She looked deep in thought, biting her lip and raising one of her eyebrows, and finally, she pressed her tainted lips against hers, letting their lips collide. They knew, that now, they would forever crave each others touch, they were in too deep. They'd fallen too hard. Never did they expect that their story wouldn't end there, and that years later they would be telling this exact story to none other than their own kids. The world was fire. All I wanted to do was burn with it. After another day of screaming and fighting, I could only sit by my window and pray that absolution would come. That I would finally be released from this Hell. She came then, maybe a figment of my imagination or a ghost from the past. A version of me long gone, or perhaps I was a version that was born to devour her. Her face was hard, but her eyes were apologetic as she handed me her dandpattas. "It is time, chhota draigan." I closed my eyes then, steeling myself, and began to hum. Oh, what to be born from chaos - what to be born from fire and blood.

But to her, the abuse, the bullying it was all normal for her.
