Lana Burke is a fourteen-year-old girl living in the harsh cold of Barrow, Alaska. She formerly lived her days on warm beaches in Hawaii, enjoying tropical drinks and sweet pineapples. But, that all changed when a family member from Barrow grew very ill. This family member lived alone and had nobody to care for him. So, Lana's family did what they thought was best and made their way to Alaska. But, little did they know that things would be happening in Barrow that would be much scarier than the fact that the temperature was constantly in the minus.

The scent of the short teen used to have was gone, replaced with the putrid smell of death and rot that covered the whole room and the killer himself. He hunts them down individually, resembling a stalking wolf, wielding a crude knife fashioned from animal bones. As they struggle to survive, the teens also grapple with the harsh environment that challenges them.
