It was sudden, and unexpected. When a chaos emerald was shattered, it chose to take a life to restore itself. Of all the lives, it took Sonic's. sonic ran in a cave to hide his secret and shadow finds out what it is, but what he didnt know what will happen to him.

"Do you hate me?" Sonic asked softly. "Yes?" Shadow internally kicked himself. ---------------------------------------------- Shadow would never be so stupid as to leverage his carnal needs over his friendship with Sonic. He would endure whatever a lonely night brought him if it meant Sonic would always be in his life. It had never occurred to him that those feelings might be mutual.

Mistake...thats all that Sonic had heard throughout his life. His parents were ashamed of him and treated him poorly, he was never safe when he was at home or at school. Until his parents took it to far and the police were called, and he was taken to a Mental Institution.
