After Lewis Snart, King of the Rogue's Island, makes the choice to reignite the war with Central Island, Len is set on bringing the city to its knees. His loyalty lies with his land and no other.
But what happens when he is left in charge of a beautiful priest captured during the raid of Athena's temple?
What happens when the young servant of the Gods starts opening his heart and eyes to the wrongness of war, helping him realize there is still hope and love left in the world and making him question everything he was once so certain about?
Torn between his loyalty to his home, family and heart, Len must make a decision. But time is running out and he must choose who he lies with before everything burns to the ground

"Why didn't you tell me?" Leonard glanced over his shoulder, meeting the eyes of his soulmate. "You wanted me to tell you that you were fated to a criminal?" He turned to face her, a cold laugh escaping his lips. His eyes meeting hers. "You wanted me to tell you that you were fated to your brother's enemy- the man that kidnapped you!" He paused momentarily, composing himself. "No," She answered defiantly, standing firm, her eyes never leaving his. "I wanted you to tell me I was fated to you." "I'm a criminal," Leonard scoffed, pointing at himself. "I make a living robbing people and killing anyone who gets in our way." "You believe that being a thief sets us apart," She chuckled, shaking her head. "Being a criminal is who I am. I can't change that. I won't change that." He stood strong, ready to watch her walk away. "I am one of the most skilled assassins to have ever served in the League of Assassins." She took a step towards him, "I can kill a man, tear his heart out, and still look at myself in the mirror." "What does that have to do with anything?" He growled, taken aback by her words. He opened his mouth to argue, knowing full well that she would cut him off before he could speak. "I don't need you to change who you are. I just need to know you'll stand beside me regardless of what I've done." She stared deeply into his eyes, refusing to back down. "You deserve more than a criminal, Allen," he argued, frustrated. "That's all I am. Nothing more." "An assassin deserves more than a criminal?" She laughed. "I am a criminal- A murderer. How does that make me better than you?" Leonard furrowed his brow, stunned by her reaction. "We're the same Snart." She stated matter-of-factly. Closing the distance between them, she positioned herself in front of him. "What are you doing, Allen?" He was distracted by their proximity; he inhaled deeply, her scent filling his senses. "Facing the inevitable," She answered, her resolve unwavering. Excerpt- Ch. 17
