"Can I get your number?" He asked, with the confidence I had been expecting.
Nice to know his time with me never affected him like it did me.
"Yeah, call me anytime," I said as I took his phone and entered my number, taking note of the pass code he used to unlock it. "You know, for the dry cleaning."
"Oh you don't need to worry about that, accidents happen. And it was my fault for not seeing you. I don't know how I missed such a pretty thing." He mused as he texted me a hey ;) and I saved his number.
I gulped down the rising bile, wondering how I could have been fooled by this act once upon a time. I was already reprimanding teenage me in my head.
"See you around." He said as he gave one last smile before exiting the small coffee shop.
