The Thinning AU

The population in America has grown out of control. Every year, students in first through twelveth grade take the 10-241 exam to determine if they pass on to the next grade or killed. This infamous test got the nickname of 'The Thinning'. Many candidates try to stop this exam, and resolve the over population problem in other ways, but people are reminded of the 'sacrifice' students make every year. The failing 5% of the population are taken out of their classrooms, and the prosecutors commence The Thinning with permission from the governor of their state. This year, five students will fight against this inhumane practice. Of course this will not be easy, but they will do anything for their fallen friend.

Vylad was the oldest. His little sister, Luna, was only a year younger. Their friends, Lily, Hope, and Alex were juniors and seniors at Vista Point High School in Houston, Texas. Vylad and Luna were orphans, but still lived in their house they shared with their parents who passed away in an accident. Hope lived in an apartment with their parents and her little brother James. Alex lived with their mom. Lily was the daughter of one of the teachers at the high school.
