    And for perfect 18-year-old Otera that has always been her reality. Her only fault is that she's straight in a world where everyone is lesbian. But her solution is to hold it all in before her fault hurts herself and anyone around her. 

    Until her sister is given the slave who will father her children.  After meeting him Otera begins to question everything she knows. Battling not only against what society wants but also her own heart.

For some reason, instead of screaming, I stay silent. She smiles and pulls out a chair from the kitchen table for me to sit on. When I don't sit, she says, "If you want to know what's going on, then sit." I think about it for a moment. She hasn't hurt me yet, and I have to admit, I am quite curious as to what's going on. However, if they find out that Nyx isn't a man- her whole life will be torn apart, and she will be locked up, or worse, killed. And the trials will easily be Kiran's end, for how strong everyone else is, yet how weak he was. And with a terrible level of self control, Kiran needs to keep his feelings from Nyx for as long as he can. Or that could be his downfall.
