Who said heroes and villains couldn't offer each other mutual benefits?

In a region run by supers, Nic is a crooked superhero only in it for the money while Catalina wants to do whatever it takes to label herself as a villain. Their conflict was inevitable, but dirty minds think alike. The duo form an alliance in order to con the biggest hero organization in the city, The Vigilante Assistance Hotline, hoping to make some extra cash on the side while never having to do any real work. But TVAH isn't what it seems. With corruption already running rampant throughout the company, Nic and Catalina are forced to step up to play hero in order to save their city from a group hellbent on hunting down supers just like them.

"I get paid every time I fight a villain, even if I don't apprehend you."

"So...If I got away and we fought again, you'd get paid even more than you would tonight, right?"

His eyes lit up as he understood my train of though. With a smirk, he said, "I like the way you think."

(TAKE NOTE THAT THIS BOOK TAKES PLACE A LITTLE OVER TWO YEARS AFTER THE BEST INTENTIONS BUT IT IS NOT THE SEQUEL TO IT.)

Our story begins on a autumn morning in Megadale, where the absence of DudePow, the city's famed hero, has left a noticeable void. With crime on the rise, the city is in need of a savior. Meanwhile, Gal Monroe and her family settle into their new home, once belonging to her late great uncle, Angus. As her and her twin brother Kelli explore the basement, they stumble upon a surprising secret: Angus Monroe was none other than the incredible superhero, DudePow. Intrigued by this revelation, Gal tries on Angus's ring, hoping to uncover its powers. To her surprise, she finds herself engulfed in a blue aura, inheriting the abilities of DudePow. Now "cursed" with unexpected strength, Gal must navigate her newfound powers while living in a world dominated by men, determined to carry on her great uncle's legacy and bring justice to Megadale. hi! little explanation here: this is an adaptation of one of my favorite fever dream memory: Shezow! i wrote the story but with a new perspective, Gal's point of view. i always thought about her as i watched the original show: what does she likes? how is she? what are her weaknesses? is she confident? (absolutely not!) and i seriously had a reflexion and a whole analysis over a character that doesn't even have two episode in the original show!!!! IM THAT OBSESSED! So be ready to enter the world of a 14 yo girl dealing with all the problems of her kind. Enjoy :) My story was inspired by the original show (Duh!), but but also inspired by other writers: EugeneMinev on Deviantart and HalfandHalfStoriesAndStuff on ao3 :) I helped myself with the universe of KickAss and ScottPilgrim because I always thought Shezow would suit these universes. WARNING: CONTAINING AMOUNTS OF SASS PREVIOUSLY UNKNOWN TO MANKIND In the city of NYC--- Ok. Hold up. First of all, New York City. What, are ya gonna assume everyone here knows what NYC is? Anyway, this is about two people. I can almost hear you rolling your eyes. Another cliché teen fiction with a bad boy and a good girl? Nope. This is about superheroes. I can still hear you rolling your eyes. Superheroes. Like in comic books? Like people with super speed and mutant powers? Yes. But this isn't about the fight they have. More about the lives they lead without the masks. But just keep in mind, people who live in the world have all different skin colours. Do not assume my characters are of one unless I state them explicitly. and diversity is welcome here in my novel! Anyhow, back to the story. Ever wonder where supervillains go after their fight with the hero? What about the other side of the story? It's not like they sit in their lair cackling all day and planning how to kidnap reporters. What about the lives they lead? And instead of just focusing on that, what if the superhero and the supervillain knew each other? I mean, can they see behind the mask? No, so their identities are secret. So what if the hero and villain were best friends? What if they were roommates? What if they were falling for each other? And what happens when they find out? Now, I assume you know all of these questions will be answered in this book. But hold on. It's going to take a while. You're in for a bumpy ride. And if any of you got any of the references in this description, give yourself a pat on the back. That is a beautiful thing. And if you can name all the references in this book, you truly are a gift to mankind. Fangirl out.
