Jennifer and Payton are two of the 43 children that were born from a random pregnancy on October 1, 1989. Jennifer's mother was ashamed, so when Sir Reginald Hargreeves asked Jennifer's mother if he could have her, she handed the baby to him without any hesitation, not caring what the suspicious man would do to the child. Payton's mother had also given her away, but not as easy as Jennifer's had.  Payton's mom asked what good would it do for her, which Hargreeves answered with "They're gonna save this messed up world" to which she took a few seconds to choose to give Payton away.
