Beyond the Veil

Just before she's whisked away to the prestigious Brookewell Academy for Talented Youth nestled in the mountains of North Carolina, Ruby Wilson's best friend Mara vanishes from her hometown.

It's a shock to her system that leaves Ruby reeling, but she can't turn down the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity of attending her dream school. In hopes that it will be a welcome distraction from the mystery of her friend's disappearance, she packs up her violin and heads for the hills-- literally.

But the shadows follow Ruby; Brookewell isn't as safe as it seems, and as she unravels more about the hidden past of the school, Ruby discovers that what happened to her friend just might be linked to a series of mysterious events that occurred when Brookewell was founded in the sixties.

As Ruby gets closer to figuring out the mysteries of her school, though, students start going missing.

Is solving the puzzle of Brookewell and Mara worth it, or will Ruby end up in an even worse place than her missing friend?
