This is a short story based off of a picture a drew. One of my friends asked me to write a prologue about the two characters.
Two people, both from separate worlds. One hidden in the shadows, left alone, hiding from the world and herself, trying to control the burning fire within.The other the son of an alpha, learning the responsibilities of becoming a leader, trying to control his inner beast. Both taking their journey through life, both waiting for their soulmates, both hiding behind a mask; hiding from the fears within.

Mathias glowers at me with those dull, yet bright eyes and all I can do is glare back at him. The air around us crackled with electricity and a raging fire from the pit of my stomach licked the back of my throat. I was ready to spit flames at him, scorch the smug smile off his face and leave him to burn like he does me. Instead I don't get the chance. "You don't get to be angry with me," I snapped, shoving past him. But Silas moved faster. His hand caught my arm, yanking me back, and before I could even think to curse him, his mouth was on mine-furious, hard, uninvited. My back slammed into the wall, and I should've screamed, should've pushed him away, but all that rage between us burned too hot. The bond I didn't understand crackled under my skin like wildfire. My fingers curled into his shirt, pulling him closer before I even knew what I was doing. It wasn't soft. It wasn't sweet. It was teeth and breath and bruised lips. Opposites Attract
Based off a prompt on Tumblr: "I want a superhero series where they have powers that 100% contradict their personalities". Molly grew up as a fisherman's daughter in a village by the ocean, so naturally, it was a surprise to her and those around her when she acquired fire powers. Everyone around her had some sort of magic, but they all were compatible with who they were. Molly's mother had died in a fire for Aglea's sake! (Note: Aglea is a goddess who's name just happens to resemble a Greek goddess. They're very different.) Jax was the son of a rich blacksmith, who shocked everyone by developing water powers, and strong ones at that. When the two meet, they go on a journey to save Molly's village from a witch who wants their magic for her own. If they can't stop her, her icy grip will smother the world. Will something other than friendship develop over this trip? Only time will tell. (I don't own the cover image if you know who it belongs to, tell me so I can credit them.
