"Angels aren't real," he scoffed, sipping his coffee and letting the stinging sensation dull his emotions. The scalding latte he had been crying about moments ago was now dripping down is throat, trying to distract him from the hot tears that could pour out.
"And why's that?" she questioned with a slight tinge of tease in her voice, but still already knowing his answer
"Because if they were," he slammed his coffee down, a few droplets spilling on the table. Fear rose in her velvety brown eyes. She'd never seen this side of him. Hell, she didn't even expect him to react like this at all. The tease she included in her voice was now sinking low in her throat, and heavy in her heart. The way he was acting right now wasn't hot or sexy like he usually was-- Frankly, it was terrifying.
"They would've saved my goddamn sister."

At the precious age of 12, young Sophie-Marie died. She wasn't famous, but she was now. In Heaven, atleast. She was the most famous Angel, an inspiration to the newest recruits, to say the least. She trained the newbies, and even taught the old ones some new tricks. Everyone had a guardian Angel, and it was a classic blessing to have Sophie-Anne protect you, but for Roy Whitney, she was just an annoyance. Sophie's way of protecting people wasn't to stay invisible, but to instead engage in their lives, and just 'happen' to save them. But when Roy tells Sophie he doesn't believe in angels, she's crushed, and so are her fluffy, almost fake-looking wings. An angel can't thrive on non-believers, so Sophie sets out to change his mind. But when she finds out why he doesn't believe, she's determined to find his little sister in Heaven and prove to him, she's still alive in spirit. But she can't get up there without her wings, so she'll just have to convince him the old fashion way. Will stubborn Roy finally believe in Sophie, or will he never believe, and never get a last chance to say goodbye to his little sister?
