Love is a rose; it blooms slowly and can become beautiful, but will hurt if not handled carefully. This fictional autobiography is about a boy and a girl who meet at a party, but later start to fall in love. The boy has to leave and they began talking online, only falling deeper in love with every word they say. Both are too scared to admit their feelings and the girl feels she'll never be able to be with him, so she pushes her feelings down and meets a new guy. Later on, the first boy announces he's coming back and finds the girl with her new boyfriend. How will he react? What will he say? What will the girl do? These are all questions that will soon be answered once you read this book.

(This was my very first story so I can acknowledge that there are some really cringy parts-aka I will be rewriting/revising very soon!) Asher King's life has revolved around putting up an involuntary mask to hide his true self. With successful parents boasting about his 'pretend' success, Asher feels as though the life he is living was never his to begin with, and a home of happiness is far out of reach. While the luxurious life is envied by most, Asher is only followed by social anxiety and suffocation in a life he doesn't want. The only place where he feels like he can genuinely escape is the little flower shop down the street, where he doesn't expect to find the school's star football player. Leo Gaines is Greenville's golden boy who is destined for success in the NFL. One would think that Leo would do anything to keep a squeaky clean reputation, but Leo would do anything to live a life for himself. Everyone seems to love the confidence he oozes but the subtle respect he always values. However, one thing doesn't fit the agenda: he is still coming to terms with his bisexuality. After multiple encounters with the mysterious boy from the flower shop he works at, Leo soon realizes that he can't help falling for the flower boy. Can Leo find the relationship of his dreams while trying to find a future in a world that exudes masculinity? Will Asher finally find authenticity that will break him free from the marionette puppet he is staged to play? Find out in "Flowers for Football."
