"Sometimes I have the strangest feeling about you. Especially when you are near me as you are now. It feels as though I had a string tied here under my left rib where my heart is, tightly knotted to you in a similar fashion. And when you go, I am afraid that this cord will be snapped, and I shall bleed internally." ~ Jane Eyre ~ Ellison Sutton spends her days with her nose buried in some sort of literature classic. She has spent her days isolated from the majority of society by choosing to read Jane Eyre for the fifth time. A new literature freshman at Oxford, Ellison meets someone who challenges her literary views. Mr. Ellington Fitzgerald is an esteemed professor at Oxford, and is surprised to have such a disobedient student that can still quote paragraph 34 from chapter 7 of Pride and Prejudice. Dealing with unknown feelings from the both of them, they need to learn that there is more to love and humanity than paper words. •• better description in book ••

He was her mothers coworker. Then he was her superior. He was a friend when there were none. He was a comforting ear, a shoulder to lean on when all she saw was the terrors of assault. And over slow time, as natural as anything, she was his rock, too. Both brandishing troubling issues thanks to their dark pasts, each with perceptive personalities, and far too many secrets that refuse to fade; they go from being strangers, to friends, to... something undefinable. Living conflicted by their feelings, lonely for a supportive companion, and constantly misdefining themselves by the trauma that's happened to them; lines begin to blur and they seem to be getting closer and more reliant on the other. With the question of morality remaining, will they give into each others temptations, or bury it deep away from the dirty looks of society? To lie or love, deny or try, or survive at all? (Warning:This book strives for realism; includes PTSD, VIOLENCE, & other dramatic plots.) Now completed!
