Maximo Isidro y Valencia has traveled to the future from the year 1896, during the Philippine Revolution. There he meets Isabella Alfonso, the reincarnation of his Spanish lover---who had suffered a gruesome death in the hands of her father because of him. Unbeknownst his knowledge, he has to leave Isabella to go back to his timeline. To free the Philippines from the 500-year Spanish occupation, and to prevent it furthermore.

A fugitive in the modern timeline, Maximo has to dodge the eyes of Governor-General Facundo Vizcaíno. But with a little bit of secret from the childhood of his modern lover, his mission to free the Philippines in the modern world goes pretty awry.

Either he does return to his timeline, or he remains a fugitive for almost 123 years.
