Janie Aldergo is just like every other girl when she's awake. She hangs out with her friends, volunteers at the local pet shelter and crams for that test she forgot to study for. However, when Janie falls asleep, something incredible happens: she wakes up in someone elses body. The transisition is temporary, lasting only until Janie's body wakes up, but while she's asleep Janie's conciousness jumps into the body of someone else. She's learned to ride out the jump, affecting her hosts life as little as possible while she inhabits them. But Janie's life is flipped upside down when she gets into a car with her drunk friend--literally. Her friend flipping the car is the last thing Janie remembers before she once again wakes up in the body of a stranger. And, just like every other bodysnatching, Janie decides to wait out the jump causing as little change to her hosts life as possible, made very easy by the fact that her new host seems to have no friends, no family, no home--no identity at all. Things start to get complicated when, after a day of waiting, Janie is still stuck in her hosts body. She tries to travel to her hometown to track down herself and find out what's happening, but she suddenly finds herself on the run from the police. On the way, she learns that the body she's in does have an identity after all: Andrew Prezner, age 17, wanted for the murder of a ten year old autistic girl. And after calling her town's hopital, she finds out the worst bit of news yet: her body is in a coma after the crash, meaning she's stuck in Andrew's body indefinantly.(CC) Attribution-NoDerivs
