Good and Evil. Light and Dark. Some say the two are as clear as night and day, but how can that be? There's always a brief moment as the sun rises and sets, where only a few rays are still there, but in that moment it is enough. People are like that to. They say the road to hell is paved with good intentions... I don't think so. I believe, people are selfish and cruel, but not inherently that way. No, we're all given a clean slate, but eventually people turn us cold and heartless, and then we do it to someone else. However, those actions, just as the last rays vanish, are our true, unabashed selves. In those moments, we are who we were meant to be. I left my old life behind, to avenge those who couldn't. And I'll only stop when their all dead.

I didn't come here to make friends. But still- it hit harder than I thought when he said it. "We're not friends." Just like that. Like I was the problem for thinking the silence between us meant anything more than... silence. He barely looked at me when he said it. Didn't flinch. Didn't soften. And I wish I could say I didn't care. I wish I could say I rolled my eyes and walked away. But the truth is- his words stayed. ::: She never asked for a new beginning. He made sure it wouldn't feel like one. After losing everything that once felt like home, Lyrah is forced to move into a house that doesn't belong to her-shared with strangers, full of boxes that carry more silence than belongings. New town. New walls. New rules. What she didn't expect was Jonah McGregor. Detached. Sharp. Unbothered. The kind of guy who makes it clear from day one: "We're not friends." He doesn't want to talk. He doesn't want to listen. He just wants to be left alone. But sometimes the people who keep you furthest away are the ones who see you the clearest. And sometimes the most unexpected person becomes the only one who truly gets it. (Wednesday is new chapter day on 6 pm)
