This poem is a reflection of the hurt and anger that comes from acknowledging that the relationship you have with your father as a young woman is no longer something positive in your life. In fact, it hurts you and breaks you down everyday. These words represent the struggle of learning to let go of the value you place on the people in your life who's actions have proven to only triggers the lows of your struggles with mental health. I hope that anyone who takes the time to read this poem is able to connect with the struggle of parental relationships and perhaps, feel less alone while experiencing their own challenges.
