In the not so cheery town of Cold Spring, New York, the children are getting ready for summer. Some are exictedly anticipating water balloons and cannon balls, while others are awaiting to be whisked off to camps.
Quinn is dreading her summer - something she never wanted to do - as she has been forced to pack some paper and pencils to go to a writing camp. It was a last chance effort by her mom to make her perfect for high school, but Quinn doesn't see the point. She will always be that girl in the shadows, sporting sarcasitic comments when needed and standing up for herself and only herself.
