Mirrors are powerful. Quite a lot of lore agrees on this. Whether breaking one is bad luck, or there's a different world on the other side, they are capable of a lot.
Now, while she is a huge fan of fantasy stories, Caryn Elliston thinks this is a load of BS. It makes no sense when you look at the real world.
Until she gets transported to a new world through a mirror. then the whole 'magic is actually real' bit seems a little more believable.

Darren Avery was your usual loner kid. Well, mostly. He had a few friends, but they seemed to be perfectly fine without him sometimes. (And while this seems super corny, I promise its not completely.)

Sailing across them is perilous, as sailors often report glimpses of their reflections behaving differently from their true selves, or seeing visions of things that haven't happened yet-or perhaps, things that never will. These glimpses lure many to madness or worse. Navigating the Mirror Seas requires great skill and a strong will, as the deeper one sails, the thinner the veil between the two worlds becomes, and the more reality itself warps.
