Collin Daze looks at himself like he just might be the worse thing to ever become a part of his world. At age three, he set his cat on fire & laughed at its suffering. Now, at the age of sixteen, he only sets fire to the people around him-figuratively, of course. He carries around a ratty, old, composition notebook that holds all the images of people he wishes he could burn, people who have burned him the last sixteen years of his life. He feels he is doomed to a life of trust issues, when all of a sudden a red head with the name of Carter Guam walks into his class room. She changes the images and words that are written next, helping him realize that the world is safer than he thinks. Most say it takes two to ignite the fire that is love, but she is the bucket of ice cold water that puts him out before he burns the most important in his life-himself.
