Indiana Brooks has never known freedom, safety, or love in her pathetic little life. Now I know what your thinking; you're overreacting. But I'm not.
Indiana's dad only cares about money, work, and drinking. The only time he talks to Indiana is to yell at her or threaten her for doing something wrong.
Her mom left when she was 4, she has a new husband and 2 kids. She hasn't bothered to call or text since she left. She probably doesn't even remember Indiana.
With all of this, it has caused her to act out, Rebell, do everything she can do to get her dad's attention, to get SOMEONE's attention. But all she gets is yells and threats. Over and over again.
She gets into dangerous things and does everything she can do to piss him off. But no avail. She is slowly losing herself.
On a few occasions, she piques the interest of one of the most dangerous gangsters in the US. He's known as X. and when she is with him, she feels like she can be her crazy, insane self. She can be free.
But someone like her can never have a happy ending.
Her dad gets angrier and angrier with his daughter as time passes. People more dangerous than Indiana thought possible come hurtling into her already complicated life. She is at risk of losing the people she finally found freedom with.
