When Clay and Justin start seeing and hearing Hannah, everything goes down hill. They try figuring out why she's here and they can't pinpoint it. Things get harder for Clay when Justin stops seeing Hannah. Over the course of the story Clay tries his best to work through her death until Bryce is mysteriously murdered. Soon it all starts to land on Clay. Justin wants to take care of Clay because he's in severe risk of depression. Justin ignores all his problems to the point where he's in trouble himself. He wishes Jessica would love him again but he's starting to feel like it's impossible to love anyone. Both boys live with severe guilt and wish it would go away. How will they get out from under this?
