At 26, Liberty Montgomery has barely begun to live life. Married nearly right out of high school, she's known no other life than the one her husband provided. Returning to Liberty Lake, her hometown namesake, with her 4 1/2 year old son in tow, Libby doesn't know what to expect. Rediscovering herself and her faith seem like insurmountable obstacles.

Jake Owens has always lived in Liberty Lake. He loves the town and the people in it. Running his father's construction business just seems like a natural progression of life. When Libby returns, bringing with it old feelings he thought he'd long buried, he finds himself wanting to help her in any way he can.

Libby isn't looking for help or friendship. She wants to stand on her own two feet. Love certainly isn't a dream she chases anymore. As a mother, she has her son to consider and her own wants don't enter the picture. Can she take what Jake is offering, and find a new life, one that provides all that she has been missing?

(Book 1 of 7) *complete* I fell for Alberta Anderson when I was a teenager, she was my childhood best friend. It was a slow and steep descent into an all-encompassing love. To be Allies favourite person in the world, and yet to yearn for more...to dare to yearn for more. It was torturous, and before I would ever get to confess it, another came along who dared to be braver than me and fell in love with her and all that she was too, my older brother Ben. Ben was sensible enough to propose and claim her for eternity with a band of gold and a seal in our temple, all at the tender age of eighteen. Our church, you know that infamous one in Utah? Yeah that one. Their wedding day would mark the day I left Utah, the church and my family, the month I announced I was gay and was sent away... there was no room for gay here...and in turn no room for me. Allie wouldn't understand, my absence, or my silence...and five years would pass...painfully for us both. Allie had a child, I went to college, feelings got left buried, but thoughts were daily, and she never left my mind...not for a day, and what I didn't know was that she was in that same place...lost and waiting for me to return. And I would return... one christmas five years later... and with me every feeling and emotion resurrected. Our teens were only the beginning because the journey to Alberta was about to span through our twenties and into our thirties. A journey home. *** Willa Jameson. When I hear that name in church one Sunday afternoon, it is five years later, five years I've not seen her but the name stirs a pain inside of me still. My life starts and ends with Willa Jameson and she has no idea. Mature content marked in chapters with a * *Completed March 2022. "You ungrateful bitch. I keep a roof over your head, and this is the thanks I get?" "You could have killed her," I retort, trying to muster up confidence that I don't possess. "What if she goes to the cops, Dad? That bruise on her face is enough to get you arrested and charged with assault." "What? You mean when she tripped over the mess you made in the kitchen?" His smile is so wicked that it chills me to my core. "She ain't going to the cops. Hell, she'll probably be back here tomorrow." "You're a bastard," I whisper, tears filling my eyes. "No wonder Mom left! She probably couldn't bear to spend another second with-" I'm pushed to the floor. I scramble backwards as he approaches me, his cheeks scarlet with rage, his pupils the size of needle points. In fourteen years, I've never seen him this mad. I've really done it this time. -------------------- (COMPLETED) Life is hard when nowhere feels like home. For Layla Dodds, there is only one goal: survival. In the small town of Liberty Rose, where life is steeped in tradition and secrets are as sweet as the tea served at the Sit-N-Spill, Annie Faye Carter has always been guarded. As the proud owner of the family-owned tea bar, Annie has learned that trust is a luxury she can't afford-especially when it comes to the local city council. When Councilman Davis and his ambitious colleagues set their sights on Annie's family land for a new development project, Annie finds herself in a fight to protect her legacy. But the odds are stacked against her, and it seems as though every road leads to the same sinister truth: her town's leadership is corrupted, and they're willing to do anything to get what they want. Enter Kane Mercer, a lawyer with his own reasons for standing against the system. A native of a nearby town, Kane has seen the damage that unchecked power can do. Reluctantly, Annie turns to him for help, and together they uncover a far-reaching conspiracy involving corrupt politicians, ruthless developers, and shadowy corporations-forces far more dangerous than they ever anticipated. As the two work side-by-side, the tension between them shifts from professional to something more-something neither expected. Their growing connection becomes a source of strength, but also a reminder of how much is at stake. The danger surrounding them intensifies with break-ins, anonymous warnings, and an ever-present threat to everything Annie holds dear. But the closer they grow, the harder it becomes to keep their feelings buried. With the stakes rising and time running out, Annie and Kane must navigate a town divided, confront old fears, and uncover the truth before the council's plans tear everything they love apart-while learning how much they mean to each other in the process.
