"Hush, Little Lamb." I cry into his shirt, not caring that I am in his lap. His large hands run down my back in comfort, making my sobs turn into quiet hiccups. "That's it," Aiden comforts.
The hospital door swings open and the second I see my father, I jump out of Aiden's lap and run into his arms. "It's alright Lucy. Mommy is gonna be just fine."
"Do they know what happened, Mr. Astor?" Aiden asks from behind me.
My father takes a moment to answer, "Drunk driver. She just has a fractured wrist. She will be fine," he says, looking down at me with an expression I don't understand.

"Yes, Love. She's going to be just fine," Father says, petting my back. His gaze stays fixated on Aiden in a way I don't understand.
